Going Commando...

I was unable to do my long run yesterday. I had an AWESOME time at the Middle High Lock-in but I went to bed at 1:30 am and woke up at 5:30 am. I decided that I should skip the long run. Hubs was super sweet and allowed me to take a nap when I got home.

I did not think I would have time to get a long run in Sunday morning; but after Hubby and I decided on going to the second worship service, I knew I could get it in.

I decided to go commando today. I posted my wedgie issues a while back and have suffered in silence continually. I felt naked at first, but then it felt great. I wasn't constantly picking my wedgie and wondering if someone was watching me. I didn't have any issues, but will decide this on a run by run basis.

I am pleased to say that I ran 9.5 miles in 1:40:26. I ran slower to see how far I could go. I did not have ANY ITB issues - yay! Some miles felt better than others, but it was sunny and I felt good. Mile 8.5-9.5 was long and hard, but I was almost home and just kept going. My plan was to stop at 9, but I gave it one last push and made it. I raced in, showered and got ready for church (including straightening my hair) in 20 minutes.

I grabbed a water on the way out, but never drank it and after 1/2 hour into the worship service, I felt light headed. I knew I needed to drink water.
After church, Hubby took us to my neighbor's place Wong Gee for dim sum - my absolute favorite food! Doesn't it look yummy. I settled on pork/shrimp shu mai and Lyle ate shrimp dumplings. We both ate the Chinese broccoli. Kids barely eat anything; but at this place, Brock will eat lo mein noodles and Kiera ate white rice.

Some people say that Kiera looks like me, but it is clear from this picture that she doesn't. She was excited that we sort of matched for church.
And here is a good picture of Brock and Kiera. Two children from the same mother that really do not look alike - well, maybe in the cheeks.

I had a picture of Lyle and I, but he did not okay it for publication, so you will just have to wait to see his transformation too. P90X is really working both of us into shape!

Don't forget that my giveaway for a KALYX sport's bra ends tonight. Enter for a chance to win! Check back tomorrow for the winning announcement.

I have already caught up on some of your race reports and cannot wait to read the rest!

Always go commando...the only way! The kids are adorable and I am hungry looking at the food! Sounds like a great weekend.

I've always gone commando. Bicycling shorts seem to require it and it just sort of happened for running too.

The kids smile like you :)

Somehow I'm hungry for dumplings now. Wonder how that happened?

Great job on the long run and sounds like a lovely weekend. I've never gone commando, but I have only a small number of undies that work for running. I always regret wearing any other ones.

Commando huh? Never considered it, might have to give it a try! Haven't had dim sum in ages but love it too!

I love it! Nice job. It feels great to check a good run off the list! I did the same this morning but went for 7. When I got to church I felt refreshed and ready to go! You look great and your kids are super cute!

Great long run. Depending on what I am wearing - I sometimes wear undies and sometimes not. Yesterday and this morning I ran in Nike pants and wore undies. But when I wear running shorts or capris that have liners I go without. But the right undie is very important.

Your kids are too cute and I love your hair cut.

Great run! I will have to try the commando thing, but I am also a thong-wearer. Some people hate them. I have slowly switched to them. You get used to the permanent wedgie, and no VPL.

Way to go on the long run!
