It's ONLY 2 minutes faster, right?

This morning, the kids decided it was not only necessary to get up before 6am, but to get into bed with me. So all four of us (Dolce joined me around 4:30 am), snuggled in my full size bed this morning. Nice if it was just snuggling, but Brock was really awake and our conversation went as follows:

Brock: "Mommy, I think you are going to win your race!"
Me: "I am not going to win as in first place, but I am going to race hard!"
Brock: "How fast would you have to run to win?"
Me: "Like 6 minute miles!"
Brock: "But you run 8 and half now, right?"
Me: "Yes!"
Brock: "Well, it shouldn't be that hard to run 2 minutes faster, right?"
Me: "Yeah!"

I only wish it was that easy. I learned two things this morning form my 6 year old:

1. Apparently I talked way to much about running 8 and half minute miles, enough that he picked up on it.

2. The amount of confidence that I need is merely elementary. To look at this race, my goals from my 6 year old's mind, it is SOOOO doable. So, you know what? I am going to rest in elementaryville and KNOW that I can ROCK this Half Marathon.

And the vote is in; I will be wearing:

And don't worry Pink Passion (formerly Pink Throw up) fans, I'll just have to rock that at the Cherry Blossom 10 miler next Sunday, if TriGuru can stand it.

Oh, and don't forget to get my skirt love by entering my runningskirts.com giveaway HERE. Deadline is 11:59 pm Eastern Time tonight.

Love your outfit! You will look awesome. And I love the color!

Kids can always see things more clearly than we muddle-minded grownup.

Run Strong!
