But guess what? It is supposed to be in the 50s this weekend which means I will SO ROCK MY skirt at the New Years Day 5k. Do you want to know what else is weird? The race does not start until 10am. WHAT? You mean I have to wait all day to race? Sure it will be warmer and the sun will be up, but 10 am? When I typically get up around 4:30, 10 am means the WHOLE DAY has gone by.
My husband said it is a 10 am start because people "party" the night before. Really? People still do that? I am one of those who is asleep when the new year rolls around. Not like asleep on the couch waiting for the ball to drop. I mean like tucked away in my bed by 9pm. Yeah, pretty much a loser. But I am okay with that.
Growing up we stayed up all night... and would race to call relatives the fastest to wish them a happy new year.... but now, I do not even answer my phone.... which does annoy some people.
How are you ringing in the New Year?

I've never been a big new years person. I think I've stayed up past 12am maybe three times in my 26 years.
I hate this cold too. I swear I got frostbite on my rear today.
and I haven't made it until midnight on NYE in 6 years ...
I do not love New Year's Eve. It always seems like it is going to be a big deal and then "poof" it ends up stinking! We stay home with our kids and make pizza and ice cream sundaes.
I am hating the cold too! I wore my skirt over my tights this am just so I could have my skirt on, but my Saturday race is supposed to be 51 and I wil be wearing my new skirt. I can't wait. BTW, it doesn't start until 1245, I guess that is why it is called the Hangover Classic.
19 degrees is a heatwave! At least that is what I am telling myself for Saturday's 5K.
We're being old fogeys and staying in too. Last year was my first year NOT going out and partying it up, and I rather enjoyed the chillness of all of it. I honestly don't remember if I stayed awake until midnight.
The race I'm volunteering for on New Year's Day starts at 11:00 a.m.
you can wear your skirts over tights!
Probably at home with my sick hubs! Good luck!
Mimi
