4 days later (a picture post)

Really? I haven't posted since Monday. December has been very busy, but we are ready:

Jesus is Day 24, so he is ready to be born (why isn't he day 25?)

Presents are ALL wrapped (it looks like a lot, but only 3 per kid)
But I have managed to get runs (two 6+ milers, 1 hill workout, and an interval workout) in and strength training... and guess what? I FINALLY got bike shoes.

Yes, I MADE fun of white shoes, but... those are the ones I selected!

So do you know what that means? I can now take my bike to get fitted to me. I have owed this bike for 2 weeks now and still have not been able to ride it (except when I test rode it). And also, yesterday, I picked up this:

Trainer... if I can remember how to use it.
My friend is letting me borrow it so I can start training indoors. I tried to get bike shorts too (the ones that I have are too big), but did not have any in my size.

And even though Saturday is Christmas, a big birthday party in my house, I am still planning to get a long run in, EARLY! I may wait until Sunday morning - but we are supposed to get SNOW!

Kiera said, "But it is Christmas, can't you take a break from running?"

(My first thought was NO. Even though I am not really training for anything yet, I could skip it, but I may want an extra helping at dinner!)

Me: "How about if I promise to be back by 7am?"
Kiera: "Ooooookaaaaayyyyyyy, I just thought you would take a break!"
How are you going to get your long run in this weekend?

I've managed to get sick, just in the "nick" of time... so, it looks like the long run is going to get glossed over in favor of hot tea, clear soup, some kind of cough meds and a box of kleenex. I ran 12 on Wednesday morning, that will have to be my "long" run this week.

Best wishes for peace and happiness this Christmas and throughout the new year. :-)

Trust yourself - remember nothing bad will happen if you don't run on Christmas Day. If you can fit it in, fine - if not - so be it. I am on the bike trainer this morning - 83 miles away from biking 1000 miles and just 13 miles from running 1000 miles. Don't know if I will get the biking miles in - but I will meet my running goal this weekend.

Enjoy all of the Moments of this Wonderful Season.

Peace and Joy to you and your family!

Most of our Christmas is taking place today, and our Christmas tomorrow doesn't start until the afternoon, so I've got plenty of time to get a run in tomorrow morning!
