Where have my boobs gone?

Not exactly the post you were looking for, huh? Well, I have a bone to pick with RUN and a confession.

I used to wear a 36 K nursing bra (meaning bigger than other bras... you know: A, B, C, D, DD, DDD, E, F, G, H (while nursing my daughter), I, J, and finally K (reached while nursing my son). Even after I stopped nursing my son, I was still a K. My boobs never shrunk. A year after I stopped nursing, I was still a K and began looking into a breast reduction. (A little history - I have always had large breasts... senior year of high school I was a 34 DDD). My husband was okay with it and I finally had surgery and the doctor removed a little over 4 lbs of breast tissue - not fat (apparently they are two different colors).

I loved my new "little" boobies. I would finally be able to run without wearing two bras. In high school, I used to wear two sports bras and tape "them" down like you would tape a sore ankle. It was horrible and I HATED them.

After surgery I was wearing a 36 C. I was excited to finally shop at regular stores and buy bras in colors besides white and black. Hey, I finally got matching bra and undies sets!!!! Look at this picture of me in January of 2009. My boobs are practically falling out (as is my tummy, but that is a whole different blog post)

As I have started running more and more, I have noticed that my perfect little boobies are slowly disappearing. I mean, where have they gone? I know I have lost 70 lbs now and I expected that my boobs would shrink too, but now I feel like I need a lift. Why can't we pick and choose where we loose our weight... I mean my thighs are SCREAMING for attention. Hello, RUN - please work your magic there too. And my bum - it is getting jealous you are giving my boobs all the attention. Show a little love on the bottom too, please!

I love you, RUN! I have become quite found of you. RUN - I even miss you on my cross training days - although not waking up at 3:30 or 4am was nice this morning. I want to continue this wonderful relationship with you, RUN... but can you please show so love to my other parts? I have never been a boob girl and I trust you knew that, but enough is enough, already!

Here is my current state. I could use a little "pick-me-up" if you know what I mean.

Ah man I hear ya. Having always been small...I was enjoying my 36 almost C's (I was a 34 A all through highschool and until I had kids) that I had kept post babies, but after running more I am more of a 34 B... and my thighs are still huge (but then again, when I was a little skinny minny cross country runner in HS, my thighs were still big). Ugh... Good luck with your girls trouble.

I use to be a 34 B and was fine with that. Then over the years they got bigger with weight gain and right after I had my first son and began my very long nursing years they became DD. Not overly huge since one of my friends actually got her girls worked on and went to a DD from a C but now.......now.....they are flat. They have stretch marks and are flat. My bra sort of just shoves everything in a cup and pretend to have shape.
I wouldn't give up running or increase my weight but boy does being a woman and the changes we go through kinda bit the big one!

I can't even imagine! I cringed when I had to switch from a 34C to a 34D... not cool

One of running's lovely side effects! You look fantastic, though, with or without the boobs!

I hear ya! I was a 38E (or EE? idk) when I was pregnant with Isaac. I came back down to a 36D and I don't know what I am now but I wouldn't be surprised if it was C or B even. I'll find out tomorrow.

I think your thighs look great but I know mine wouldn't mind not touching anymore.

Totally understand, I've lost 50lbs and went from a DD to a saggy C. But I have to admit, doing chest presses really helped "lift" and reduce the effects. Oh, well. Saggies are worth all the benefits!

Boobs have kind of become a running (ha) joke between my other mommy running friends. Ours are all affectionately knowns as "rocks in socks". Sad. But also very funny. :P
I used to be a nice C, babies always seem to bump me up to a DD, and then once I stop nursing I swear they get smaller every time. Once I started running too? Yikes. From a 36DD down to a 32 (barely) B! Talk about shock! I'm with you-I would love it if the loss hit my thighs and hips just a tad bit more than my chest, but oh well. You win some, you lose some!

I feel ya on this topic although I still think mine a little too large still for running purposes. I echo the chest presses. Mine were so sad looking after nursing both boys for an accumlative 3 years, but once I started working the chest muscles they perked right back up and even got some plump back :)

First of all, you look fabulous! Second, I totally feel you. I was never large. I was a 38 B at my heaviest. And now, I am a 34 AA ... SO SAD. One day, I will have the perfect chest. Even if I have to pay for it.

I think you look wonderful, and very well proportioned! I think you are still dressing/looking to accent and hide your old figure and not your new one!

Ha! So right. I've gotten large now that I'm preggo (36D) but I'm normally 34B. Before I started to run, though, I was always a 36C. I loved that running reduced my breasts, though. I don't like being too big.
