Coupon State of Mind

Happy Mother's Day to all of you fabulous women out there. Some of you even raced on your special day!!!! Incredible!

I had a nice and easy Mother's Day. I woke up to my daughter hugging me and asking if she could give me her presents. What mother doesn't want to be awakened by presents? After I shook my head, she raced down stairs to get the gifts that she made. Besides a lovely card, I got a paper that read:

Most awesome mom
Original
Terffic
Helpful
Eater
Runner full of hugs

I guess she really knows me. I wish there was something besides Eater... but she made up for it with Runner full of hugs. My daughter really thinks of my as a runner. I love that!!

She also gave me coupons. Here is how they stack up:

1 no fighting coupon
1 one day of being an Angel  coupon(which she described as leaving me alone)
2 breakfast in bed coupons
2 one bedroom cleaning coupon
1 one free hug coupon
1 seven free hug coupon

I think I made out like a champ! I especially like the no fighting coupon (hopefully she meant with her brother) and the Seven free hug coupons. Of course, Kiera gives wonderful hugs all of the time, but it is nice to know that I can use these whenever I want. There is no expiration on them... so maybe I will have to save them for when she is a teenager.

But these coupons got me to thinking... I should give myself coupons. Coupons for rewards, for goals and for breaks. Here are some of the coupons I would write for myself:

1 free tea out coupon
1 free running outfit coupon
1 free massage - legs coupon
1 free iTunes download coupon
1 4 hour marathon coupon
1 under 25 min 5K coupon
1 free road bike coupon
1 free biking accessories coupon
1 just finish the marathon coupon
1 just train for the Tri coupon

I am sure my list could go on and on...

What would you give yourself a coupon for?

BTW: My daughter also gave me a pair of gold hoops and my son a lovely necklace from Target. Daddy let them pick it out. So not my style... but because THEY picked them out... I LOVE THEM and will wear them a lot!

Let us know what the people at the day spa say when you present them with your handwritten "free massage" coupon. haha

Sounds like a great Mother's Day! Enjoy the coupons. I like the idea of giving some to yourself too.

I'd give myself: "one guilt free treat"

I think you got a great set of coupons and that you have another nice set of dream coupons. Mine would be "one nap-a-day" coupons!

Sounds like a great Mother's Day!

I would give myself a coupon for more energy OR more hours in the day! I really don't need anyTHING but I would like to get more done with my days. ;-)

Love it! Kids are so sweet and thoughtful! Happy Mother's Day!

My boys gave me a a free USAF Marathon coupon, so I'm pretty excited. With chauffeured transportation to and from the event by Dad Wonder.

The coupon idea was great! I had to laugh at "Eater"...sounds like something my kids would say about me!

Hope you cash them all in (including the ones you gave to yourself)!
