Almost Deleted

Yes, I have been missing in action. Some of it was due to being an extremely busy PTA President (remember when I was boasting about wanting this job and volunteering for it? Yeah.... not so much now!) but some of it had to do with me feeling that I had to edit myself. You understand? Not be true to ME!

And on Sunday, for 1 hour, this blog was gone. Not gone as in deleted (almost though), but gone as in made private... invite only... and the only person I had invited was myself (testing it).

And within this hour I got 1 text and 3 emails from followers... wondering why they couldn't find my blog or needed to be invited. I mean, I have barely published a post in like a week, who would really notice that I was gone. Seriously, folks... I have been averaging many hits a day (when I actually post something new), but comments... seriously lacking. Like averaging like 2 - BOO!

But those 4 people made me realize... I am read. I was missed. And then I had a change of heart (obviously, right... you can see me know). Why do I even write this blog? For others? For me?

Sure, I hope I motivate you, make you laugh, cry... even gross you out sometimes (wait for the I'm only down to 7 toe nails post). More importantly, this blog helps hold me accountable to my training, to my weight loss, and to the idea that I can do anything that I put my heart into.

And for the haters out there... YES, I have haters (I know, strange, right? Who wouldn't love me): If you are tired of reading about my daily runs, then don't read my blog. If you don't like my opinion or what I have to say, then kindly (I know your momma taught you manners) tell me your opinion.

The blog community helped me TREMENDOUSLY with my weight loss (down 98lbs now). I cannot thank you enough for your encouragement and support... and now as I attempt even greater feats (IM anyone?) I have decided, no more filters, I am going to be ME.

I hope you stick around, if not... Ba bye!

i read all the time and my blog tells me when you update so I dont visit unless its a new one to read. I also rarely comment. But I will comment on the weight loss. If you have lost 98 lbs...You were 197.5 so anything under 100 is unhealthy for you. I know you are training but you need to refuel your body or you will be worthless in races. You should be around 110-20... stop the fear of gaining your weight back and just train.

The same people who hate you, are the same people who "hate" me. Stupid people.

I love you....r blog.

I miss you when you're not here. I am so glad when you post. I can't always comment b/c I often read from my phone... but I am here.

PS- THANKS for commenting on my blog... no one ever does, and frankly I can't really figure out why. I thought it was *kinda* funny.

I was also wondering where you'd been. I read you every day!! And I try to comment on your posts, but can't do it at work, so only in the evenings and then it's such a mad dash around here....but I always check your site for a new post.

I'm looking forward to your "new" blog. Yours is one of the only blogs that I truly enjoy b/c I can relate to what you're saying.

We exchanged emails awhile back about meeting up for a long run one of these days (I'm in Bethesda). Hope we can meet some day!

Keep on keepin' on!! :-))

Love that your sis is so totally honest and LOVES you so much.

I know that I created and continue to blog to track my own training and journey. As you mentioned - it holds you accountable. I know that I read your blog and Many other blogs and just don't often comment. Sometimes the post doesn't need a comment and other times I just don't have anything to say.

I think you should always be true to yourself - does it really matter if everyones agrees? Who cares? It is your life and your blog - do what YOU want and the rest will settle into place. Oh - except your sister . . . You do have to listen to her, she KNOWS you and will LOVE you forever.

i've thought about privatizing my blog too, but I've decided to keep it. Anyway, glad you are keeping it open!

I think most bloggers feel like deleting every once in a while. I recently posted several giveaways and hardly got a comment...I mean when readers won't commnet on a giveaway it makes me just wanna cry but then I remember I con't post for others. It's for me first and foremost. I've "met" such great people and I wouldn't want to lose the positives from blogging just because come times theyare down days.

How could any one "hate" on you? Seriously?!! You are inspiring!

I would never want to privatize my blog, I like the idea of having it out there, I don't have any private things in a blog, if I want to write something for one or two people, I'll send them an email...

Like you I would love lots of comments, but to be honest that sin't why I write. i write because I'm a story teller. Of you are ever in Cape Town come for a run with me and I will tell you a story or 10...

There are bloggers out there who write every day or even more than that, I try for 1 post a week. Now I don't read books, never have and don't really have time to sit around and do nothing, I would rather be out running!!! But blogs are good for me I read all the blogs I follow, and since I don't just follow 100s I have chosen a couple, which would be to many if every one wrote every day, they don't. There are a couple who have stopped writing and I miss them...
So don't stop writing.

How could anyone hate you? If someone doesn't like what you have written, then they don't have to read it. Sheesh. I wish everyone would take my mother's advice: If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all! Although I don't comment often, I thoroughly enjoy your blog - so glad to see you back!

I have considered going private for a while. In some ways, I'm over blogging. But in other ways, I never want to stop. It's a struggle.

I also agree with your sister. If she's doing the math right, she's 100% dead on.

ok apparently I was wrong I know her weight from when she started the Biggest loser local competition. Not when she started her journey.. That was at 210....not 197.5...so I made a mistake...cant even believe I am writing this down to record I made a mistake... haha..anyways.. just stay healthy is all I ask.. you can't eat diet food and run 22 miles in a day.. you have to EAT EAT EAT...now I dont know what you eat so maybe you are...just keep yourself in check. love ya.
