Instead of running after dinner, I opted to fix dinner for the family and run while they ate. I started out around 5:45. It was still raining, but much lighter than it was in the morning. It still felt like bliss. I really do enjoy running in the rain.
Running by yourself gives you tons of control - and I like control. I was going to do an out and back, but then I decided to play around a little bit and see how creative I could be. I was running a good pace too.
Here are my splits:
8:59
9:03
9:06
9:16
9:38 (HUGE hill)
9:16
8:57
8:58
Looking at those splits makes me happy. I like that I am as fast at the last two as I was during the first two. Another thing I noticed was that I did not drink water. I am used to finishing most of my bottles, but since the temps were down and I felt good, I drank like 3 sips. I did make sure I hydrated well when I got home and ate a cold plate of spaghetti (the dinner I made before I left). It tasted divine!
Do I run before the fair or after? It HAS been 12 hours since my last 8 miler... but will I be any good walking around the fair? I'll let you know what I decide... but what would you do?

I would def. do it before...the fair is an awful lot of walking (and eating), and I think it would be nice to enjoy it knowing you are done with the run for the day.
I would do it before!
Your legs will be fresher than afterward, and you can use the walking to stretch out your muscles after you run.
I would totally do it before. Great job on the run. My run last night was awesome too. Must have been in the air ...
Run at the fair, make it a fartlek session, sprinting between the rides/displays. Food booths are your nutrition.
I would do it before. that way, when you are walking around the fair, you aren't allowing too much lactose build-up to occur! :)
I would run before for sure.
man you are getting getting speedy! way to go!
Love your dedication!! Nice splits!!
