First, welcome new followers... I love seeing that number go up and I love getting to know you, so please leave a comment and let me know a little about you!!
We had another gorgeous day yesterday. After resting my Achilles for 2 days, I was able to get in 3.2 miles with the baby and the jogger... in 31.43 and I did not have any pain.... until 3 hours later. I KNEW I should have iced it even though it did not hurt. I am also happy to report that my first mile is hilly... and yesterday was the first day that I have EVER broke 10 minutes running it with the baby and jogger. I did it in 9:56:57 - hey... I will take it!!!!!!
My kids have been practicing running with me. My little 5.5 year old son, did .66 miles last week in 8:36. My almost 7 year old joined us yesterday afternoon and we did .86 in 10:15. Not bad. I have a 5k on May 31st, so maybe they will be up to running it then. Or maybe, I should just let them do the fun run... we will see. They actually want to practice with me a lot, so I think this is a great way to keep them in shape and take it slow. If they keep it up, I may even switch out their Stride Rites for actual running shoes.
Also, with all of this gorgeous weather, I really need to get warm weather running gear. I have put my hopes in winning Shut Up and Run's giveaway, but I have also been dying to get a running skirt - actually what they call Athletic skirt (has the "boy" shorts instead of briefs), from Runningskirts.com. Maybe it is because I am an identical twin and I think those chics are just the cutest! Or maybe, I just want one. I think I have entered... I do not know exactly, but at least 10 giveaways in blogworld for a running skirt from Runningskirts.com and my number just has NOT been "pulled". I went there today and the one I want is $68... ouch - but isn't it BEAUT-I-FUL?!?!? I am still going to get it, but I was wondering if anyone had a discount code that they would share with me so I can get it a little cheaper. Please leave a comment and let me know.
If you are giving one away... please let me know so I can enter that giveaway... I will even brag about it and post it on my blog to give you more hits. Let me know!!!
With my Achilles hurting again this morning, I think I am going to take the day off... rest it, stretch it and ice it. Remember, listen to your bodies.

Please share if you track down a discount code. I'd love one myself! Their skirts are so cute.
Great job on breaking 10 mins on that hilly mile WITH the stroller! Wow! Remember to ice next time. :)
I'm in the middle of listening to my body RIGHT NOW! I'm in Knoxville visiting my sister. She's still in bed and I didn't know where I could go run, so I just took off on the sidewalks leaving her apartment complex. It took less than two miles for my knees to tell me they do NOT like running on concrete sidewalks! I tried to keep going, but just a few minutes later my right shin also let me know it was not a fan. I stopped and walked in. Not gonna risk an injury just to get in one five-miler!
Use "Endurance" for 15% off, found it on Tricia's blog Endurance Isn't Only Physical.
Ah, I have entered several as well and never been picked. I will cross our fingers that we both will win one sometime soon :) I am eyeing the purple plaid or the pink polka dot! Good luck!
You are brave to run with sore Achilles. Mine is still not well.
I would love that running skirt too. It is totally cute! Would you know if it has built in shorts?
I've been debating about getting a skirt too! I know that Tricia, at Endurance isn't only physical has a 15% code on her blog.
I'd love a discount code too. And I do like the one you picked.
Hi Jen,
I love that running skirt too:) So cute...now that it is warm I will be sporting my skirts more!
I think it is great that your kids are running with you!!
Nice job breaking the 10 minute barrier. That is wonderful that you kids are following your healthy lead.
I now over on Tricia's blog you can enter "Endurance" for a 15% code! They are super cute! I want another one!
Either "PINK" or "Endurance" will give you 15% off. Totally worth the money in my opinion!
Yay for running with your kids! I have two skirts from runningskirts.com (got them for $36 on sale last fall) and I love them. the best thing about them is the POCKETS and the fit. Some people say the shorts ride up so you may want the spankies/bloomers, just a thought. you can always return if need be. worth full price in my book but great if you can get a sale!
Great running with the jogger! Yippee! Glad the run was pain free...remember to ice.
If you get a code, easy post material because we all would want that! Good luck winning one.
I am working with my kids too and looking forward to running a 5K with them. It is fun to include the family in the joy of running!
Love the floral skirt too!
Yay for running, especially with the kids!!! That skirt is soooo cute!!! I want one too!!!!!!
I LOVE my skirts from runningskirts.com. I think the athletic ones are my fav. I actually just got in the one you pictures. It is too die for cute!
My coupon code is still active. Use "endurance" and you get 15% off. The discount shows up FOLLOWING check out (just a heads up). If you have any problems let me know. :)
I placed an order with the coupon and the discount never showed up. :(
that is a really cute skirt. I bought a running skirt last year from REI and really liked it. So this winter I bought a navy blue with yellow accents from Runningskirts on sale. I haven't been able to wear it yet - but am looking forward to running in it this summer.
As you said - listen to your body. I am doing that right now also. I have a bone scan tomorrow to check out my right foot for a possible stress fracture. I am really hoping and praying that it isn't a stress fracture - but I will move on to healing and then getting back to running.
EWA:
You used my code and it didnt work?
send me an email with your order number and I'll get it straightened out with Cindy.
