Sick Little Boy

My darling son, Brock, has been saying his belly hurts for a couple of days. Usually after a trip to the potty, he feels better. Last night he would not eat his dinner, but that is typical on a raining Saturday after a day of snacking. Around 8:30 pm (bedtime is at 8pm), I heard a strange crying and he was standing in the hall next to my newly painted and cleaned bathroom. Bless his little heart, he had tried to make it to the potty to vomit, but this was the ONE TIME the lid was down... and he made it, but the lid was down. UGH!

I quickly rallied daddy to take him (he wanted to wash out his mouth) as I began cleaning and sanitizing the bathroom. I guess those twizzlers he had during his video were not meant to stay down. Of course the ENTIRE time I am cleaning, I am holding back my own gags. After the clean up and sanitizing stint, I sat with him praising him for making it into the bathroom (instead of his bed). He wanted to go lie down in his bed. Before I left him, my husband and I laid our hands on his tummy and prayed for healing. He smiled and closed his eyes and was fast asleep. How amazing that our Lord can bring such peace to a sick little 5 year old. Hubby stayed with him for a little while but he never moved. I am sure it takes a lot out of them.

I am so blessed!!! I think this is the first time my son has thrown up and my daughter has only thrown up twice: at 6 months and then around 3 yrs old (she is almost 7 now). We spent the rest of the night with small trips to the potty and now he is famished. I told him he needed to eat slow and only drink water. He said, "Why can't I eat fast!" Usually, we spend the entire meal begging him to keep eating - too busy talking - and now he wants to eat fast. I made him scrabbled eggs... so I pray that this stays down.

I think we will spend this Sunday inside and we will all eat the BRAT diet in case we get whatever this was... and I just remembered - SPRING FORWARD! I am already a hour behind... did you remember?

I hate the throw-ups! The only bright side is it is usually overwith pretty quickly. I hope it doesn't spread to anyone else in your family.

The pukeys are running RAMPANT in our neck of the woods right now! So far *knock on wood* it's stayed out of my house. I hope our luck holds out! And I hope no one else in your house gets it. Feel better soon, Brock!

I hope Brock feels better today and that the rest of you stay healthy! What is the BRAT diet? Kidless women don't know that term. :)

Poor boy, I hope he feels better soon and that the rest of you stay well. What loving parents you are. And no, I did not remember to "spring forward"! (I've been sick with a stomach bug as well and woke up thinking it was still Saturday)!

Throw up is so bad. Hope your little guy feels better soon! Two totally gross stories. First we were driving home from the in-laws (12 hrs) when I was pregnant with my youngest. My middle daughter puked all in her carseat and my hubby couldn't stomach it and made me clean it up.

Second, I once got sick in middle school and when I threw up in the toilet, my retainer flew out too and my dad had to fish it out by hand. SO GROSS!

Oh no! It was probably from us! I hope that he is feeling better soon! Colin ended up getting sick on Wednesday night and stayed home on Thursday. By Friday he was better. Let me know if you need anything!

Throw ups are never fun...I hope he feels better quickly. Wanting to eat fast is definitely a good sign :)

And I will pray that YOU stay healthy. After cleaning up for sick kiddos I always feel like a person working on a nuclear power plant who has been exposed to radioactive something... no matter how much I wash hands, shower, cleanse, etc.

Sorry about your baby getting sick! That's always tough.

Also...what's up with other runners running you off the road? That just isn't right.
