Thursday Thriller (psst... a giveaway)

I decided to go ahead and purchase Yaktrax Pro Snow & Ice Cleats (since we have like 4 feet of snow here) and I wanted to give one away, as well. The description says:
"The new and improved version of the award winning Yaktrax Pro Snow & Ice Shoe Traction Strap is even more durable, secure and effective. The revolutionary Yaktrax Pro is a safe, spike-less and cleat-less shoe traction device that is designed for the avid outdoors person. The Yaktrax Pro is relied upon by runners, recreational athletes, postal employees, the military and safety and rescue personnel worldwide.
Yaktrax's patented SkidLock coil system provides exceptional 360-degrees of traction on snow and ice. Plus, the Pro model is equipped with a safety performance strap designed for added stability."

And the features include:

    • Removable Velcro performance strap provides added stability
    • Fits on virtually any type of shoe or boot; easy on-and-off
    • Ten times the gripping points as any spike based traction device
    • Nothing new to learn; walk as you normally would
    • Durable natural rubber blend elastomer has memory
    • Spike-less and ultralight
    • Super strength 1.4mm horizontal coils provide forward-backward traction
    • Vertical coil pattern provides side-to-side stability
    • Can be worn in temperatures as low as -41 degrees Fahrenheit
    • Abrasion resistant steel coils will not damage most flooring

So one lucky winner will receive Yaktrax Pro Snow & Ice Cleats in small (Women size 6.5 - 10). And all you have to do is be a "follower" and leave a comment so I know you want the Yaktrax.

And for those non-runners (or you just want this instead), I am giving away a Core Ball with a DVD.
The product features are:

"These targeted and ultra effective core ball routines will help you achieve a sleeker and healthier body. With proven workouts that concentrate on your midsection, you will get the sexy, toned abs that you have always dreamed of. A wide range of beginning level routines teach the basics of working with a ball while progressively challenging routines allow you to power sculpt your abs. This incredible, results driven DVD includes over 10, easy to follow targeted routines that allow you to progress at your own pace. Whether you are a beginner or advanced student, this DVD has something for getting into great shape."

So in order to be entered to receive the Core Ball and DVD, all you need to do is be a "follower" and leave a comment letting me know that you are interested in the Core Ball.

Please note: Each follower must let me know which giveaway they wish to be entered in: the YakTrak or the Core Ball & DVD by leaving a comment on this post. You may not enter both giveaways. The winners will be announced on Wednesday, February 17th.

AND: If you would like an extra entry, post a link to this giveaway on your blog, and leave a comment letting me know.

I leave you with a picture from yesterday in the middle of our Blizzard. Did I mention I live in Maryland not Antarctica?

Can't mistake that for today's Antarctica since that one is melting. :) But this does not look like Maryland either.
Gosh, this looks like New England when I used to live there.
Heard good things about Yaktrax from people in snow and ice areas. Have fun running in them.

Became a follower thanks to your sister, Janet. I have lost about 25 pounds since I had my son. He's now almost 2 so it's taken a while and I know how hard it is. Don't know what I'd use the Yaktrax for but could use a core ball. Stay safe. My family is in Montgomery County, MD!

I am a new follower because of your sister Janet. This is so funny!! I desperately need these shoes. Last week my husband and I were devising a plan to put short machine screws in the bottom of our running shoes just so we could feed our running addiction. I was going through withdrawals last week because of the snow and ice. I tried to run a couple of times, but ended up slipping and sliding out of control. I NEED these shoes so I can continue my therapy sessions in the snow and ice!!

Holy crow, that is one wicked blizzard! I love our precipitation in the Pacific NW: It doesn't require shoveling, and you can splash right through it without slipping and sliding.

New follower here! And now you are so close to 100! :)
I luck out here in that even when the snow is piled deep, my trails are pretty well cleared. I do not envy those of you getting dumped on right now, but kudos for getting out in it!
And since one of my kidlets recently introduced my ball to it's demise, I'd love to be entered for the core ball and dvd! Thanks!

Holy moly that is some weather you guys are having. You are putting MN to shame in the horrible winter category. I hope you dig out soon.

Great giveaway items. Throw my name in for the Yak Traks....although, it has become kind of a joke at how many time I wipeout during the winter. Every year, I seem to beat my prior year's record. ha!

Lindsay said...

wow you are awesome! these are great giveaways. i hope the yaktrax go to a snowed in reader so they can get out for a run!

i don't think i'd use the yaktrax enough to steal them away from someone else (though it does snow here!) so i'll go for the abs dvd please!

gba_gf said...

The Sweat Heart 8K that I'm "attempting" tomorrow is in the Richmond area of VA. Now, I realize that MD and VA are "close" to each other, and also realize that you may be a desperate runner looking for clean dry roads, but unless you're going to be down in the area already this is a just a local club race, probably not worth traveling for.... it's hard for me to imagine that my last race was a marathon, and now I'm nervous about an 8k. Silliness. Have a great (snow filled) day!

My husband using Yaktrax for running or walking during the winter and since we get a lot of snow here every year in WI I would love a pair of Yaktrax myself but just haven't gottten around to it!

I just did a review of the YakTrax pros on my blog! This is the 3rd winter I've used them, and I definitely don't think I could make it through without!

And of COURSE I'm interested in the core ball! ;) I do most of my UB strength training with a stability ball as my bench.. might as well hit the core while you're at it!

Unknown said...

I am a new follower. Please enter me for the core ball. We don't get enough snow/ice for yaktrax where I live, but I could really use the ball.

Wow! Love the picture of your blizzard! Still can't believe you're dealing with all of that! We've had our same 4 inches on the ground since January or December???? But our pavement is wonderfully clear! It's got to end soon in DC,right? Colin has yaktrax and lots of my friends here have them, you'll like them! They do help. I have something similar-stabilicers, but they are better for ice then snow, I think anyway.

I am very over weight. It is great to see a success story and God getting all the glory. I have been trying to lose weight all my life. Diet here Diet there. It wasn't until I gave it to the Lord and now I have changed my life style. Thank you Jesus. I'm going to become a follower and see you do the tri. go girl. When I lose more weight I could use the core ball. Is there a weight limit? Maybe one day. I will keep you in my prayers.

I would love me a pair of them Yaktrax!!! Never in a million years would I have thought I would even NEED a pair of those, but it seems that Tennessee has moved north for the winter. We've had more snow this year than in all my years combined! We're not equipped around here to keep roads and sidewalks cleaned off well, so a pair of Yaktrax would be AWESOME!
